    Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

    Cures

No, you should book at least as many overnight stays as the treatment lasts, so 7 overnight stays for a 7-day treatment, e.g. from Sunday to Sunday or from Monday to Monday…

On the day of arrival, your room will be available from 3:00 p.m., and on the day of departure until 12:00 noon. If you arrive earlier or depart later, you can leave your luggage at the reception. Please let us know your exact arrival time in advance so that we can plan everything accordingly for you.

The aim of an Ayurveda cure is to cleanse and detoxify the body in order to restore the balance. This process requires a certain amount of time. Stays of less than 7 days may result dissatisfied, as side effects of detoxification, such as headaches and aching limbs, may occur during the first few days. For this reason, only cures of 7 days or more are available. For a shorter stay, a room can be booked at Hotel Eden Roc (Eden Roc Hotel & Spa by Brava Hoteles I Web oficial), and the desired treatments can be booked separately at the treatment center (contact: portsalvi@bravahoteles.com).

Ayurvedic cures are not fasting cures. Depending on the doctor’s recommendation, at least two meals a day should be eaten, as the body needs energy for the cleansing process.

An Ayurveda cure is intended to heal chronic ailments, detoxify the body and prevent illness, and is a serious medical practice that can trigger profound physical and emotional reactions.

A wellness cure, on the other hand, focuses purely on relaxation, rest, stress reduction and general well-being.

During an Ayurveda cure, especially a Panchakarma cure, strenuous exercise should be avoided, as the body needs its energy for the deep regeneration and detoxification processes.

Light activities such as yoga, easy hikes and gentle swimming are recommended.

    Ayurvedic or Panchakarma Cure
An Ayurvedic or Panchakarma cure (from 10 days onwards) is a traditional, deep-cleansing treatment that removes toxins (Ama) from the body and mind. Its aim is to restore the individual balance of the doshas (Vata, Pitta and Kapha), regulate metabolism, strengthen the immune system, and activate the body’s natural self-healing abilities.

    Rasayana Cure (14-day programme)
Rasayana means “rejuvenation” and refers to revitalising and restorative treatments. These may focus on a specific organ system or part of the body (for example, the skin, nervous system or back), or on the body as a whole. Unlike the Panchakarma cure, the Rasayana cure does not include intensive detoxification or cleansing procedures, making it particularly suitable for older adults or people with reduced vitality.

The yoga classes offered twice daily complement the Ayurveda cure and consist of basic yoga, which is suitable for people of all ages and experience level, including those with no prior experience.

For a more advanced level, private lessons can be booked with Abel Debritto, an internationally certified Iyengar yoga teacher with experience at studios in New York, Los Angeles, London and Barcelona.

In preparation, it is recommended, if possible, to avoid meat, coffee, alcohol and smoking starting one week before arrival.

If the cure is being undertaken for a specific medical indication, medical reports are definitely helpful.

    • Comfortable casual clothing; there is no dress code.
    • Yoga clothing, if you would like to take part in the yoga classes.
    • A swimsuit and a swimming cap (for the indoor pool).
    • Suitable walking shoes, if you plan to go hiking.
    • Anything you would normally bring for your holiday.

The flight should only be booked after you have received the formal booking confirmation and invoice.

The driver will be waiting for you in the airport arrivals hall, after you have left the security area, holding a sign with your name on it.

Arrival is possible every day except Saturdays and Sundays.

The cure packages include all classic Ayurvedic treatments and are designed to achieve the best possible results within the available time. For organizational reasons, a treatment package is selected initially. After the initial consultation, the doctors tailor the cure program and diet to the individual’s constitution and needs.
