Yoga and meditation support your Ayurveda treatment
Yoga and meditation are important components of the Port Salvi Ayurveda treatments. The self-healing powers stimulated by the ayurvedic treatments are further enhanced by yoga and meditation. At the Port Salvi Ayurveda Resort, yoga takes place twice a day, also on Sundays and holidays.
Daily morning yoga at 7 AM This early morning yoga class is led by our Ayurveda doctors, who are all qualified yoga teachers. At the beginning of this rather meditative yoga there are always breathing meditations (Pranayama). Afterwards rather light asanas are practiced.
Afternoon Yoga at 5:30 PM We invite you to join us for a revitalizing afternoon yoga session at 5:30 PM. Led either by one of our Port Salvi Ayurveda therapists – who is also a certified yoga instructor – or by experienced local teachers, this session offers a more dynamic approach than our morning practice. It is designed for those who seek not only serenity but also a more physically engaging experience.
To ensure that all our guests, regardless of individual health conditions, can participate with ease, we offer only gentle and foundational yoga practices in both our morning and afternoon sessions.
Private Yoga Sessions For guests with an established yoga practice or a desire to explore further, we offer private sessions. These exclusive classes are led by Abel Debritto, an internationally certified Iyengar yoga teacher whose path has taken him through the revered studios of New York, Los Angeles, London, and Barcelona.
Abel brings to each session not only a deep well of knowledge but also a sensitivity to the unique needs of every student. He teaches across all levels, but his particular gift lies in therapeutic yoga. In close collaboration with the Ayurvedic doctors, and using carefully chosen props, he tailors each session to address specific physical imbalances, offering relief and restoration in equal measure.
A gentle reminder: If you wish to experience a private session with Abel, we recommend booking in advance at our Ayurveda reception – or, ideally, prior to your arrival.
